Transition event in Bath

Home Ownership Officer Jo Bonner represented Advance at an event for young adults leaving special education at Bath College recently.

The evening was a great success and good discussions were had with families who wanted to find out more about what housing and supported living options are available to their sons and daughters. Other exhibitors from SEN schools and colleges took information with them so they can hold similar gatherings for their students and parents to talk to them about the HOLD scheme.

Jo said, "It was very busy and lots of people came to the stand because they had heard of our “amazing scheme” and were really blown away by how flexible it is.  One father was even quite emotional while he listened to how it works, as he never thought anything like it would ever be possible for his daughter."

If you have a recognised long-term disability and wonder if shared ownership, through HOLD, might be a way for you to enter the housing market, you can find out more on our shared ownership section of the website.
