Social Care Day of Remembrance & Reflection

Social Care Day of Remembrance and Reflection

Today is Social Care Day of Remembrance and Reflection organised by The Care Workers' Charity.

The day is an opportunity for everyone impacted by the work of the social care sector to reflect on our important work and pay tribute to the people we lost, the people who supported us, and the people who made it through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

You can get involved by visiting the Memorial Wall and Thank You Wall and leaving a tribute to a lost loved one, a thank you to a care worker who has provided vital support to you or someone you know, or a well done to a colleague who worked hard to help keep the people they support safe during the pandemic.

Other ways people can get involved are:

  • Plant a tree in honour of lost loved ones.
  • Have a minute’s silence to reflect on the past year.
  • Write a thank you letter to someone who has helped you through this past year – it could be a care worker who supports you or a loved one, or a colleague who has helped you through challenges at work.
  • Paint something which reflects upon the past year for you.

The Care Workers' Charity are also fundraising to invest in a fitting tribute to the important work of the social care sector.
