Celebrating 1st anniversary in Kidderminster

A supported housing scheme we manage in Kidderminster for local people with learning disabilities and physical disabilities celebrated its first anniversary last week with a buffet lunch for customers, families and friends.
Each customer has their own one-bedroom flat in the light, modern building. Everyone has access to a garden and a large communal room for socialising. Since moving in last April, Sal has made many friends. She loves her job at the local coffee shop.
"Advance has given me health, peace of mind, safety, security and dignity. Staff and customers work well together. Last year I was able to cook Christmas dinner for my parents in my own home for the first time. Having my own place is fantastic. Sometimes I can't believe it's real. I've been involved in all the decisions about my life along with my family and support team."
Her parents said "The quality of the building is superb. This is matched by the quality of support Sal receives. It has been a huge change for Sal coming here. We know she is happy. We know she is safe."
