Advance team triumphant in Slough

Advance customers from Windsor proudly display their trophies

Windsor customers Clair, Amanda, Susie, Ray and Robert took part in the Slough Games for people with physical and learning disabilities. This annual event is run by the Participation, Association, Leisure and Sports Club (PALS), which gives people with disablities across Berkshire and Buckinghamshire the chance to take part in sporting activities. Advance customers were invited to take part by Windsor Mencap. The event was attended by the Mayor of Slough.

Advance customers entered lots of different events, and won at draughts, dominos, golf, bowls and pool. As a club they won the over-all trophy on the day, (proudly displayed by Clair in the photo). Between the four of them they won 6 gold medals.

Windsor scheme manager Greta said 'We are very proud of them. It was a really long day, 8am – 7pm. Luckily the weather stayed fine and they came home tired but triumphant!'
