Dignity Action Day
Dignity Action Day aims to ensure people who use care services are treated as individuals and are given choice, control and a sense of purpose in their daily lives.
At our Advance service in Worting Road, customers and staff chose to celebrate the day with a number of inclusive activities.
Support Worker Magda said: "It was great to gather around the table together and to talk about dignity, rights and listen to customers' feelings and ideas about the services they receive. Customers and staff also took part in the quiz about dignity in care.
Customers and staff talked about the things we like about each other. This seemed to be everyones' favorite part of the day and provoked discusion on what we can improve in ourselves and what others can work on. This discussion was the most creative activity as the debate was captured in art work we made together.
We hope that through conversations, fun, painting and making posters we have promoted dignity in our work place and also we have raised our clients' awareness of their rights to be treated with dignity and respect."
