Advance calls for change to how CQC inspects ATUs
Our Chief Executive, Julie Layton has signed a letter along with Chief Executive's from another forty organisations, asking the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Matt Hancock to change the way the Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspect Assessment and Treatment Units (ATUs).
The letter drafted by VODG (voluntary organisations disability group) asks Matt Hancock to order the Care Quality Commission to review the quality ratings of inpatient units following the Whorlton Hall abuse scandal (see Panorama programme).
