Julie Layton recognised by Women in Housing Awards
Advance Chief Executive Julie Layton has been recognised in the Women in Housing Awards, sponsored by Inside Housing. The Awards honour and celebrate 20 female leaders, innovators and change makers who are making a difference across the social housing sector.
Speaking about the honour Julie said: “I am incredibly proud and humbled to have been recognised in this way alongside such exceptional women who are active in the social housing sector. Having worked for Advance for over twenty years I have seen a lot of change and challenge in the sector. I have also seen a lot of progress notably in the recognition of women and a more inclusive and diverse sector. In my work at Advance and outside with Charityworks and the Association of Mental Health Providers I have championed diversity and inclusion wherever I can.
This is a recognition, not for me, but for the amazing work of Advance and the achievements of our customers. Every day we make a difference and every day our PRIDE values guide us to do the very best we can for our customers. The impact of COVID-19 threatens to exacerbate the inequalities our customers face. I hope this award helps draw attention to the challenges they face and leads to real lasting change.”
