National Apprenticeship Week

National Apprenticeship Week 2022

2022 marks the 15th year of National Apprenticeship Week, the annual week-long celebration of apprenticeships.

The week brings together businesses and apprentices across the country to shine a light on the positive impact that apprenticeships make to individuals, businesses and the wider economy.

The theme for National Apprenticeship Week 2022 is 'build the future'; reflecting on how apprenticeships can help individuals to develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career, and businesses to develop a talented workforce that is equipped with future-ready skills.

People on apprenticeships have brought huge benefits to Advance over the years by supporting the work of different departments and bringing new ideas as they learn new skills.

Venesha has been in an administration role with our Hackney team since last year. She is working towards a qualification during her placement in conjunction with our partners at Lifetime Training.

Venesha tells us a little about her role below:

What have you learned during your placement?

The importance of open and frequent communication and the benefits this transparency offers. The result is a strong dedicated team that works and adapts to the needs of the circumstance.

What do you enjoy most about working for Advance?

The flexibility that allows for me to travel to different Advance services; opportunities to meet customers and colleagues. I am able to see the advantages such a service provides, and I am fortunate enough to meet those who are positively impacted by Advance.

What do you hope to do in the future?

Contribute to the continued growth and adaptable nature of Advance. I hope to utilise as much of the learning and development opportunities and to build a career that has a positive and valuable influence.
