Lockdown measures in Leicester

Leicester

The Government has announced updates to the local lockdown restrictions in Leicester. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/leicester-lockdown-what-you-can-and-cannot-do

Following a review, all lockdown restrictions areas outside of Leicester City and the Borough of Oadby and Wigston ended on 18 July. This includes Charnwood and Blaby. These areas will now return to national social distancing guidelines. Some additional restrictions continue in Leicester City and the Borough of Oadby and Wigston but some restrictions will be relaxed on 24 July. Shielding must continue in all areas. The next review will take place by 1 August.

Our Leicester Office

This will remain closed with staff visiting only if absolutely essential.

Our Staff

Staff out in public have been advised to carry Key Worker letters with you and Advance ID.

Housing

We are keeping our current restrictions in Leicester and Oadby and Wigston, until the next review 1 August. In the adjoining areas where lockdown has been released further, we are opening up our provision of services again, to the same level as the rest of the country (which is in practical terms a full service with social distancing precautions).

Support Services

Unfortunately, all Leicester City support services are located within the Leicester City lockdown zone and will therefore continue with the current restrictions in line with local authority guidance and local risk maps, until further notice. For any queries related to support please contact Faye Zarb (Area Manager - Faye.Zarb@advanceuk.org). We have produced an easy read guide to explain the situation to customers. Click here to read it.
