Learning Disability Week 2021

We're pleased and proud to support Learning Disability week every year. For many people with a learning disability and their families, getting creative has been a way to stay connected and positive through the challenges of last year. Getting involved in creativity and self expression can help improve mental health and lead to greater community inclusion. The theme of this year's LD Week was 'Get Creative'.

Mencap shared some useful resources on their website including arts and craft packs. Many of our customers find an outlet in creativity and we run a number of regular, local art and craft groups across the country. Some groups run in partnership with local institutions such as Actionspace and Hackney Museuem.

Several customers got really involved in this year's Learning Disability Week, creating some fantastic artwork in a range of different media. Check out the results above!
