Making it real in Bexley

Last Friday, Advance customers and staff went to an event in called 'Making it Real' organised by Think Local Act Personal for the London Borough of Bexley.

We were among a number of different organisations invited along to give presentations about the services they provide and take part in debates and activities. We were able to listen to, and share, stories of how flexible, high-quality support through individual budgets can help people to live their own lives and engage with their local communities.

Customer Daniel took part in the Advance presentation and told people how much he enjoys the drama and art groups he attends. Service Manager, Sarah Johns said 'It was a really useful day. We got to network with other local providers. We talked about the work we do and the positive difference it has made to customers like Daniel. Daniel really enjoys meeting people so he had a great time too."
