LGBTQ+ Pride Month

LGBTQ+ Pride at Advance Housing and Support

June is Pride Month for the LGBTQ+ community. We’re really proud of the diverse, inclusive culture we create at Advance together with colleagues and customers. Our Equality Diversity and Inclusion Group and Employee Assistance Programme support a diverse workforce and provide information and resources for all colleagues. Our People and Relationships Policy gives guidance on how colleagues can support customers to live the lives they choose.

During Pride month, the LGBTQ+ community celebrates with events that recognise the influence LGBTQ+ people have had around the world. Pride month is an opportunity to peacefully protest and raise political awareness of current issues facing the community. Parades are a prominent feature of Pride month, and there are many street parties, community events, poetry readings, public speaking, street festivals and educational sessions all of which are covered by mainstream media and attracting millions of participants.

Pride events include people of every race and faith, whether disabled or able-bodied, and all sexualities and genders as well as straight and cis allies.

Throughout June, we’ll publish stories on our website and social media channels relating to LGBTQ+ Pride.
