From the Hub, Members can access one-to-one support, group work to encourage new skills and opportunities to develop peer and mutual support. We work in partnership with other agencies to signpost, offer information and share resources to ensure Members are getting all the help they need to maintain independence. We can also offer a flexible and responsive one-to-one support service in your own home, at an hourly rate. We also offer a range of social activities facilitated in the Hub but led by Member Champions in the community. A typical Hub session may include: • A ‘come dine with us’ (cook and eat) session, developing skills in the kitchen. • A one-to-one session to maximise income, apply for a warm front grant, support with debt issues. • A group activity session with a guest speaker from the local health team. • Facilitation of a trip to the cinema with other Members.

The North Yorkshire Self Advocacy service has self-advocacy groups across North Yorkshire and supports over 90 self-advocates. Self-advocacy gives people with a learning disability or autism the opportunity to have their say about things that are important to them while building their confidence and supporting them to develop new skills.
KeyRing run monthly self-advocacy groups with support from a KeyRing worker who works in the following areas of North Yorkshire;
• Hambleton & Richmondshire
• Harrogate and Craven
• Selby & District
• Scarborough, Whitby & Ryedale
We also support self-advocates to be members of the North Yorkshire Learning Disability Partnership Board and other groups where they talk about and consult on local and national issues, invite local speakers, share information, meet new people and have fun!
KeyRing support people to attend and take part in the following:
• North Yorkshire Learning Disability Partnership Board
• Local area groups (one for each of the above areas)
• North Yorkshire Self-advocacy forum
• Local and County health task groups
• Personalised learning hubs
• Peer support groups
• Regional forums
• Local workshops and events
KeyRing are funded by the North Yorkshire Learning Disability Partnership Board and self-advocates are supported by KeyRing to have their say about the service by being involved and represented at the contract meetings with North Yorkshire County Council.
We also have a newsletter which we send out four times a year and which you can download here;
