Learning and development
Our staff are as different as our customers. They come from all backgrounds and walks of life.
All new staff receive an ‘All about Advance’ Induction, in line with the Skills for Care Induction Standards. This Induction introduces them to Advance, its philosophy, aims and objectives, policies and procedures.
All of our support teams are experienced and trained or are training towards the minimum standard of NVQ2 in Health and Social Care.
Support Workers receive training in mandatory in the following subjects:
- Safeguarding of vulnerable adults,
- Fire safety
- Food hygiene
- First aid
- Health & Safety
- Moving and handling
- Administration of medication
- Infection Control
We ensure that our staff are trained to our customer's level of need. We can also provide accredited in house training from other professionals if required. Some staff go on to develop their career within this sector through our Management Development Program.
