Advance has set up a new payment arrangements with our payment partner allpay, meaning Advance can offer a range of new payment services for our customers, including using the Allpay managed Direct Debit functions.

As this a new payment that Advance now offer, we thought it might be useful to put together answers for you any questions you may have about Direct Debits and how this will work with paying your rent account.

How does a Direct Debit work?

You can arrange to set up a Direct Debit with us for the payment of any rent or service charges using the Direct Debit option.  Advance are working with Allpay who collects the money from your bank on our behalf, then your money is transferred to Advance.

It takes about 14 days from your request to a payment being made, so please make alternative arrangements to pay whilst this is completed.  You can decide to pay Advance, fortnightly, 4 weekly or monthly.

To set up a direct debit, either download, complete and send a paper mandate form or just call Advance on 0333 0124307 and we can set it up over the phone.

This instruction provides your bank the instruction to pay your bill.

You will receive a letter from Allpay advising you when the Direct Debit will start and how much your payments will be.

What if the amount I need to pay changes?

Unlike a Standing Order, there is no need to contact your bank if the payment to Advance increases or decreases.  With a Direct Debit, we will notify you in advance of any changes and the Direct Debit will automatically adjust.

However, you should always remember that you are always in control of your money.

What happens if my account doesn’t have enough money to pay for my direct debit?

Allpay will attempt to collect the agreed amount as per the Instruction.  If the payment is not collected, a further 2 attempts will be made before the Direct Debit is automatically cancelled.  If your Direct Debit is cancelled or you’re having difficulty meeting the payments, please get in touch on 0333 0124307.

What is the Direct Debit Guarantee?

Direct Debit guaranteeAll Banks and Building Societies taking part in the Direct Debit Scheme offer the guarantee. The efficiency and security of the Schemes monitored are protected by your own Bank and Building Society.

If the amount to be paid or the payment dates change, will notify you 10 working days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed.

If an error is made by Limited or your Bank or Building Society, you are guaranteed a full and immediate refund from your Branch of the amount paid.

You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by simply contacting your bank or building society. Written confirmation may be required. Please also notify Advance of your intent to cancel.
